Describe Maxwell's look : Classically elegant with a contemporary nod to his Broadway milieu.
How does your own look compare? I'm a lot more schlubby than Maxwell. I'm afraid the practical day-to-day living with two kids just doesn't lend itself to a lot of elegance. I usually go around in as small a T-shirt as possible and a pair of shorts.
Are you actively involved with your character's look? Hardly at all. I leave it to the experts. I'll say if I don't like something, but it's very rare that the wardrobe designers come up with something I hate. I've learned to keep my mouth shut.
Favorite designer : Canali.
Favorite color to wear :I look good in high contrast and dark muted tones like smoky gray.
What article of clothing would you love steal from your TV wardrobe? My favorite thing is a olive-green suede bush jacket. It's a heavyweight one; I wear it on the show a lot. And it's real kind of old-fashioned film director's jacket, long with big pockets. It defines cusual elegance, a beautiful suede, and you can throw it on top of anything.
My wardrobe designer, Shawn Holly Cookson, is a genius because... There's a certain kind of conservative elegance about Maxwell, but he never looks stuffy, and I think that's extremely clever.
