Makepeace runs down the ramp and out of the Gateroom.
TECH DAVIS: Welcome back Colonel Makepeace. Debriefing is scheduled at 1430 hours.
MAKEPEACE: Make a hole! Sergeant, I need to find General Hammond!
TECH DAVIS: He's in his office. Colonel!
Makepeace runs up the stairs.
HAMMOND: What we need is support for three new teams. It's a big galaxy out there Major.
Makepeace barges in.
HAMMOND: Colonel Makepeace, I'm sure you remember Major Davis.
MAKEPEACE: Yes sir, I apologise. When scouting 254 Sir, we came across several members of the Tok'ra. They told us the location of SG1.
HAMMOND: Where are they?
MAKEPEACE: They've been taken prisoner Sir. By Hathor.
HAMMOND: Colonel, why do I feel I'm looking at blueprints of my own base?
MAKEPEACE: Well, in a way you are Sir. An entire section of the facility is a mock up of the SGC.
HAMMOND: It's damn peculiar.
MAKEPEACE: Unlike Cheyenne Mountain, the Tok'ra say the exterior of the base is unguarded. We shouldn't face any resistance until we're already inside the facility. And even then, it'll be light.
DAVIS: Can we trust them? The Tok'ra?
MAKEPEACE: Their operative on the inside took a big risk just to get us this information Sir. I think so.
DAVIS: If they have someone on the inside, why can't they do something?
HAMMOND: They did do something Major. (To Makepeace) You have the co ordinates?
MAKEPEACE: Yes Sir, my team is ready to go.
HAMMOND: And you will, but not alone. Sergeant, I'd like you to get me the President on the phone.
TECH DAVIS: Yes Sir.
HAMMOND: I want every available SG team ready to deploy, in the gateroom within two hours.
MAKEPEACE: Yes Sir.
DAVIS: Sir, do you intend to commit the resources of this entire command?
HAMMOND: I only wish we could. Nearly half of our teams are off world now on other missions.
DAVIS: General, that's not my point. SG1 is a valuable asset, but they're still just one team.
HAMMOND: Major, you've got a lot to learn about how we do things around here.
TECH DAVIS: I have the President for you Sir.
HAMMOND: Let's get the job done.
The Gate room
Hammond is stood on the ramp and several men stand at the bottom.
PA: We have MALP telemetry. Tactical is go. Environmental is go.
HAMMOND: You've all been briefed on the mission by Colonel Makepeace. You know the enemy. You know the risks. What I'm trying to say is, I would rather not order you to do this, so I would like all of those willing to attempt the rescue of SG1 to take one step.....
Everyone takes one step forward.
HAMMOND: Very well. SG units 3,5, 6 and 11 bring them home. Good luck Colonel.
MAKEPEACE: Yes Sir. (He turns) All right, let's go. Move out!
The scene changes >from the SGC Gateroom to Hathor's mock up.
HATHOR: We ask you once more. Which one of you shall be host to our new friend?
O'NEILL: It has her eyes. (To Carter)
HATHOR: Silence! Shall it be our beloved? We could spend an eternity together. Do you not remember the joys we once shared in one anothers arms?
DANIEL: I really try not to.
HATHOR: Shall it be the female then? She who would challenge us? You have since been possessed by a Goa'uld, we sense. Perhaps once more?
CARTER: I'm not afraid.
HATHOR: You should be my dear. For the pain a symbiote can inflict on its host is unimaginable.
The snake veers towards Jack.
HATHOR: It seems our friend has chosen.
O'NEILL: What, the grey doesn't bother you? All right, fine. Let's do it. Just, please, I beg of you, not in the back of the neck. I've got some problems...
Jack tries to grab the snake but is zatted from behind Hathor.
RAULLY: He would have hurt the symbiote.
Jack is writhing on the ramp and Sam goes to check on him.
HATHOR: Which you have done in his place! Return it to the safety of the Jaffa! Take him somewhere he can be properly restrained!
Hathor's Planet, by the Gate.
MAKEPEACE: All right, hold the fort!
MARINE: Yes Sir.
MAKEPEACE: What have you got?
LIEUTENANT: Picking up EM approximately one click away Sir. Probably power generation. No sign of SG-1's IFF or radio chatter.
MAKEPEACE: Roger that, Lieutenant.
Teal'c walks to a house. The house has been ransacked. He picks up a zat. He is then bundled to the floor.
BRA'TAC: Teal'c. You grant a dying old man's wish.
TEAL'C: Do not speak of such things. Who has done this?
BRA'TAC: The last of Apophis' personal guard. They left me for dead.
TEAL'C: For what reason?
BRA'TAC: When I heard the news of Apophis, my heart soared Teal'c. I hoped there would be celebration among our people. Instead they fear that with the death of Apophis, Klorel will return to claim his inheritance.
TEAL'C: They are cowards.
BRA'TAC: In too great a number for an old man of 135. What of you human friends?
TEAL'C: Prisoners of the Goa'uld. I have come to raise an army with which to free them.
BRA'TAC: That will not be so easy Teal'c.
TEAL'C: Perhaps. But I must try. Until then you are need of food and rest and I am in need of armour.
Jack is tied on the cryo bed. Sam and Daniel are watching.
HATHOR: We are not pleased.
O'NEILL: Neither are we.
HATHOR: Once host to a goa'uld, you will take the lives of your friends.
O'NEILL: We don't think so.
HATHOR: You will have no say in the matter. You will witness their deaths through your own eyes. Helplessly. It may take some time for the goa'uld to take control but we will greatly enjoy experiencing your eventual defeat.
Hathor places the snake on Jack's chest.
O'NEILL: Oh God! No!
HATHOR: And when you awaken >from the joining, you will kneel and pledge you loyalty to us.
The goa'uld enters Jack's neck.
There are sounds of gunfire and explosions outside.
HATHOR: Jaffa! Kree mel!
Daniel and Sam are ushered away by a Horus Guard. Jack is left trying to fight the Goa'uld.
MAKEPEACE: Look out! Look out! Over there! Secure the forward area!
HATHOR: Jaffa. Lok shak, tal makka kree!
Raully waits till everyone has gone and goes to the cryo controls.
RAULLY: O'Neill! You must fight it! I am Tok'ra. The cryogenic process will prevent the melding. The goa'uld within will die, but until then you must fight it!
The SG teams fire on the Jaffa and Trofsky arrives with a zat.
MAKEPEACE: Three o'clock! Three o'clock!
TROFSKY: Jaffa! Chel'ets!
The Jaffa who are left alive start to retreat. The SG teams reach the SGC mock up part of the facility and go into the 'gateroom'
MAKEPEACE: Yeah, there's no place like home. All right, area's secure! Let's move out.
Sam and Daniel are being escorted down a corridor.
MAKEPEACE: Surrender your prisoners and drop your weapon! Now!
Sam elbows the guard and she and Daniel move out of the line of fire. The jaffa is shot.
CARTER: Colonel Makepeace.
MAKEPEACE: Where's Colonel O'Neill?
CARTER: He's been taken as a host.
Raully is lowering Jack back into the cryogenic tank.
HATHOR: Jaffa! Kree!
RAULLY: Kel nok shree Jaffa! I am of the Tok'ra! If the Tauri do not destroy you, know this: We will.
Raully is thrown across the room by Hathor's hand device.
Hathor's planet, The Gate
MARINE: All secure here Sir. Whenever you're ready.
Back in Hathor's facility
MAKEPEACE: Stand by. We're pulling out. ETA is five minutes.
Hathor's planet, the Gate
MARINE: Sir, something's happening back here.
MAKEPEACE: Razor! Come in, Razor! SG3, we have lost radio contact. Please respond.
CARTER: What's the situation?
MAKEPEACE: My team was covering the Stargate. Lieutenant, pass the word. We're moving out.
DANIEL: Wait, what about Jack?
MAKEPEACE: He's a casualty.
CARTER: Sir! If we can get him back to Earth.
MAKEPEACE: Captain, if my team has lost control of the Stargate, we're not going anywhere. Now let's go people! We're pulling out! Let's go!
WOMAN: I know you! Shol'va! You dare return to Chulak?
TEAL'C: The people of this world are my brothers and sisters. I have betrayed no one.
WOMAN: Except you God.
TEAL'C: False God. Dead false God.
WOMAN: So you say. But his son lives.
TEAL'C: With you or without, he will be defeated, as was his father. Our people will taste freedom.
WOMAN: Bra'tac paid a heavy price for those words.
TEAL'C: You may tell your kinsman that Teal'c has returned to Chulak. You will go to every home of every warrior in this city. You will tell them that I will speak at the house of Bra'tac at dawn. Summon them!
Hathor's planet at nightfall
MAKEPEACE: No sign of my men.
CARTER: Or the enemy.
Makepeace signals everyone to go towards the Gate.
Just before they get there they hit a force shield.
MAKEPEACE: Cover your flank!
Trofsky rings up in front of the Stargate.
MAKEPEACE: Open fire!
The bullets don't pass through.
MAKEPEACE: What the hell is it?
CARTER: It's an energy barrier. We won't be able to penetrate it.
TROFSKY: Jaffa, ha'tak!
MAKEPEACE: Fall back! Fall back!
Goa'uld weapons towers rise up and target the SG teams.
MAKEPEACE: Into the tree line!
The Jaffa start firing. The SG teams start running. Daniel is caught by a blast.
CARTER: Daniel! Daniel, let's go!
One blast hits the ground opening it up.
MAKEPEACE: This way! This way to me!
The men jump into the hole created.
MAKEPEACE: Secure that flank! Secure that flank! Is there anybody behind you?
CARTER: These are Tok'ra tunnels!
MAKEPEACE: They have an operative on the inside.
CARTER: Who is it?
MAKEPEACE: Don't know. Don't expect to find out any time soon either. (To Daniel) How's the leg? Can you walk?
DANIEL: It's just a deep bleeding gash but it'll be fine.
MAKEPEACE: Sierra Golf Six. Sierra Golf Six. This is three niner. Come in.
CARTER: They could've made the tree line.
MAKEPEACE: Yeah maybe.
CARTER: If we can't penetrate this barrier of theirs, maybe we can go under it.
MAKEPEACE: It's worth a try.
Hathor's planet, the Gate
Trofsky is talking to Hathor on a mini long-range communication device.
TROFSKY: They have fled into tunnels of Tok'ra construction. There must be a spy amongst us.
HATHOR: The Tok'ra spy has been taken care of. Take as many of the humans as you can alive. They will make an excellent addition to our new army of jaffa.
The teams have hit the barrier.
DANIEL: Well, I guess we can't go under it either.
CARTER: This is unlike any goa'uld shield we've ever come across. It's more like a solid wall. The power output for something like this must be enormous.
MAKEPEACE: That's fascinating Captain, but now what do we do?
The real SGC
HAMMOND: How long are they overdue?
TECH DAVIS: Five hours Sir.
HAMMOND: The plan called for SG3 to check in by now if they lost contact. We'll open the Gate and send a message through. The MALP's relay antenna might be able to get a signal to our teams.
TECH DAVIS: Stand by to engage.
The gate starts to turn.
TROFSKY: Kree! Chaapa'ai!
TECH DAVIS: Wormhole established.
The Tok'ra Tunnels
HAMMOND: SG3, this is General Hammond.
MAKEPEACE: Hold up, hold up.
HAMMOND: This is Hammond. Over.
CARTER: The energy barrier must be amplifying the signal.
MAKEPEACE: General, this is three niner. We hear you Sir.
HAMMOND: What's your status?
MAKEPEACE: We have two surviving sierra golf team one members, Sir, but we have been cut off >from the Stargate. We've found cover in tunnels we presume were made by the Tok'ra but we cannot reach the Stargate without reinforcements.
HAMMOND: (To Walter) See if you can direct the MALP's camera to get a picture of the Stargate itself. (To Makepeace) That will take some time Colonel. We'll try to send reinforcements through the Stargate exactly six hours from now. Co-ordinate your offensive accordingly.
MAKEPEACE: Roger that Sir.
Trofsky sees the camera moving on the MALP and zats it.
HAMMOND: Colonel Makepeace, come in. Colonel Makepeace! Damn.
HAMMOND: One armoured platoon should be able to take the Stargate.
DAVIS: General, Sir. I'm sorry, it's not up to me. Even if it was I don't agree with you.
HAMMOND: I don't really give a damn if you agree with me, Major.
DAVIS: With all due respect Sir, you took a shot based on intelligence you believed to be trustworthy, but obviously..
HAMMOND: I promised reinforcements.
DAVIS: The President and Joint Chiefs are simply unwilling to risk further loss of life, sir. Those are their orders. I'm sorry. I'm afraid if you people are gonna make it back, they're gonna have to do it on their own.
HAMMOND: I see. Thank you Major.
DAVIS: Thank you Sir.
The Tok'ra Tunnels
CARTER: Sir, I've been thinking. The energy barrier extends for miles around the facility so it must be powered from the inside- some sort of field generator. Now the Tok'ra use these tunnels to access the facility.
MAKEPEACE: They must lead to it somehow.
CARTER: Right. Request permission to go back and try to shut it down.
DANIEL: I'll go with you.
CARTER: No, Daniel you're hurt.
MAKEPEACE: I'll send an SG team along to back you up.
CARTER: Even if I can knock out the field generator, you're gonna need everyone you've got to take on those towers.
MAKEPEACE: All right. If you can, blow the generator just before our reinforcements come through. We'll try to take on the towers at the same time. That might give us the tactical advantage we need. I'll try to hold the door open.
CARTER: Good luck.
MAKEPEACE: All right people, let's go! Move out!
Sam sneaks past a couple of Horus guards as she goes towards the facility.
Chulak, Bra'tac's house
BRA'TAC: Teal'c has returned >from the Tauri. If you care for this world and for our people you will listen to what he has to say.
TEAL'C: The goa'uld are not Gods.
TEAL'C: It is a lie we live each day. Only when he takes a host does a goa'uld become strong. Even then, only as strong as the jaffa who serve them. Without us, the Goa'uld are nothing.
TEAL'C: We are their strength. We are their power until we choose to serve them no more. I was witness to the final breath of Apophis. I watched him tremble with fear of what lay beyond. I believed that day would be honoured for all time on Chulak. But instead I see Jaffa taking up arms against one another. I see cowardice and I am ashamed. This is our time. It will not come again. But first we must grow stronger as the people of the Tauri have done. I call for warriors to join me through the chaapa'ai. To gather weapons, to forge alliances with other jaffa who seek freedom. To show the goa'uld we will do battle with them wherever they may be. Who will join me?
Only a few remain. One of them is General Hammond.
HAMMOND: Not what I'd call an army but it's a start.
BRA'TAC: Hammond of Texas.
HAMMOND: Master Bra'tac. Gentlemen I need your help.
Hathor's fake SGC
Sam has reached the cryo room and goes to the Tok'ra.
RAULLY: Forgive me. There was no other way.
CARTER: You're the Tok'ra.
RAULLY: Those controls are set. Activate them.
Sam activates them and the cryo chamber is lifted up.
RAULLY: The goa'uld within has gone. The cryogenic process destroyed it before it had a chance to meld with the host. He will revive automatically.
Sam opens the chamber.
CARTER: Colonel? I don't feel its presence. You're gonna be all right.
She unties him and is then confronted by Hathor who raises her hand device.
The Tok'ra Tunnels
Daniel, Makepeace etc are being fired upon by jaffa.
The cryo room
Sam is being tortured by the hand device.
HATHOR: We had hopes for you.
Jack suddenly grabs her hand >from behind and Sam collapses.
HATHOR: We will destroy you for this!
O'NEILL: We would just like you to go away!
He tips her into the cryo fluid and goes to pick Sam up off the floor.
CARTER: Sir, what happened?
O'NEILL: Oh God! Hathor's, uh, gone.
CARTER: What about you?
O'NEILL: Cold. I'm a little chilly. But I'm me. I'm me.
CARTER: Colonel Makepeace came through with half a dozen SG teams to rescue us. But Trofsky's got us cut of from the Stargate, he's using an energy barrier. It originates >from somewhere in this facility. The plan is to blow it before General Hammond sends reinforcements.
O'NEILL: And how do we plan to do that?
RAULLY: What you seek is hidden within the mock up of you Stargate facility.
CARTER: What about you?
RAULLY: My symbiote may yet heal me. You must hurry. Go.
Sam and Jack leave.
A forest on Chulak.
HAMMOND: What exactly are we looking for? We don't have much time.
TEAL'C: As you said, the Gate is heavily guarded.
BRA'TAC: The Stargate is most defensible. To be assured of victory, we will require an advantage. One hidden away and forgotten when I was still first prime of Apophis.
BRA'TAC: Few pilots could master it.
HAMMOND: And how long ago was it?
BRA'TAC: Some hundred years. The forest has changed much in that time.
TEAL'C: There is an old jaffa saying, General Hammond: They do not build them as they once did.
HAMMOND: Do you intend to fly this thing?
BRA'TAC: Not I. Threading the needle is a skill for the young.
Hathor's fake SGC
CARTER: The barrier extends around the facility for miles. The generators must be massive.
Sam and Jack enter the fake gateroom.
CARTER: We're getting close. I'm getting energy readings off the scale. She was right Sir. The generator's somewhere in here.
Jack spots a lever.
O'NEILL: What do you think?
CARTER: Try it.
The back wall behind the Stargate moves aside.
O'NEILL: Found 'em.
Sam hands Jack some C4 explosive.
CARTER: Set to detonate by remote?
They walk up the ramp.
The Tok'ra Tunnels
The SGC teams are surrounded by jaffa.
The tree line
Sam and Jack reach the tree line and see Trofsky has captured the SG teams and lined them up in front of the Stargate.
O'NEILL: This part of your plan, Captain?
CARTER: No Sir.
TROFSKY: I know that you are still up there Captain Carter! I grow tired of this. Surrender now, or your friends will be killed one by one.
DANIEL: Don't listen to him Sam.
TROFSKY: Silence! I will give you one minute.
CARTER: The reinforcements should come through in a couple of minutes. We could detonate the C4.
O'NEILL: No, Trofsky's gonna start shooting any minute. We gotta buy some time. He thinks I'm a goa'uld right?
O'NEILL: Right. Blow that C4 the minute the cavalry comes through that gate.
CARTER: What if they don't?
O'NEILL: What if they don't!!
CARTER: They will, They will.
Jack goes over the embankment.
O'NEILL: Jaffa kree!
TROFSKY: Kel mak Goa'uld. Kree tak!
O'NEILL: You heard me! I said Kree!
O'NEILL: Hey guys! Makepeace! Nice rescue, good job!
O'NEILL: All right, listen up! There's something you should know before you start shootin' and killin' and ruinin' what could be the start of a beautiful friendship! Our beloved Hathor is dead.
TROFSKY: What you say is impossible. Hathor is a queen. More than that, she is a goddess!
O'NEILL: Yeah, OK. Ex-goddess maybe. I killed her myself. You should trust me on this. She's gone. She is no more. She's, well let's face it, she's a former queen. So why don't we just put an end to this right now?
TROFSKY: We will end this with your surrender!
The Gate starts to activate.
TROFSKY: Jaffa kree! Chaapa'ai!
TEAL'C: Firing the weapon will be your responsibility General Hammond.
O'NEILL: Now. (under his breath)
Sam detonates the C4. The generator blows up and the shield comes down.
HAMMOND: What exactly did he mean by threading the needle?
Teal'c floors it. The glider comes through the Gate and takes out one of the towers.
Trofsky raises his zat gun.
O'NEILL: Get down!
He shoots Trofsky and one of the towers turns to target him.
Jack dives out of the way.
Trofsky gets up and is taken out by Bra'tac coming through the gate with some other jaffa. The glider with Teal'c and Hammond in turns to take out the tower that fired on Jack.
The tower explodes.
Sam runs to help Jack up and they watch as the glider flies by.
BRA'TAC: Jaffa! Tal bet! Tal Bet!
The remaining jaffa lower their weapons.
Hammond and Teal'c have landed and walk over. SG1 greet them and walk off towards the Gate happy to see everyone is alive.
